Camp Sacajawea is located about 6 1/2 miles northwest of Boone on over 450 acres of wooded ravines and plateaus bordering the Des Moines River. The crystal clear blue water in the large swimming pool is a nice refresher on Iowa’s hot humid summer days. Newly remodeled shower facilities for both sexes adjoins the pool. All buildings at Camp Sacajawea are handicap accessible.
The American Camp Association has deemed Camp Sacajawea as an accredited camp. The resident camp season runs from early June to mid August. For more information about attending camp or employment at Camp Sacajawea please contact the Camp Director or the Girl Scout Leadership Center.
