MISSION
* The purpose of the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union (hereafter I.O.U.) shall be to encourage interest in the identification, study, and protection of birds and to unite all those persons who have this interest in common.
* The I.O.U. will collect and preserve knowledge on the occurrence of birds in Iowa, publish a journal appropriate to its purposes, conduct meetings of its members, and promote bird study in Iowa.
* The I.O.U. is organized for educational and scientific purpose
