ABOUT US

The Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA) is a national conservation organization with over 50,000 members. There are 400 local League chapters, including the Elgin Chapter. League members (Ikes) promote conservation in their communities, states, and nation. In 1922 a group of 54 sportsmen and conservationists met at a luncheon in Chicago, Illinois, and decided to create an organization to save America’s environment for future generations. The group named itself the Izaak Walton League of America after the 17th century author of the literary classic The Complele Angler.
