ABOUT US

Since its inception in 1962, the Outdoor Writers of Kansas (OWK) has been a voice for the Sunflower State’s many outdoor-recreation opportunities. From a newspaper article highlighting the appeal of hunting pheasants in the state’s wide-open spaces to a radio show broadcast straight from the fishing boat, members have kept Kansas residents in touch with the outdoors for more than 40 years now. OWK members cover the outdoors from a variety of angles. Membership includes newspaper and magazine writers, photographers, editors, government employees, tourism officials and even a cartoonist.
