ABOUT

Rocky Mountain Wild protects the biological diversity of the Rocky Mountain West. We monitor the status of 573 species and conserve core habitats that sustain wildlife and native plants. We have succeeded in preventing extinctions in our region since we began operations in 1999, but many species, including the Canada lynx, Rio Grande cutthroat trout, Gunnison sage-grouse, boreal toad and Graham’s penstemon could still be lost without protective measures and our vigilant advocacy. Our current campaigns are focused on preserving biologically-rich areas at-risk to development or industrialization including the Dolores River Basin, Wolf Creek Pass, and the Yampa River watershed.
