ABOUT US
The Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District, one of 98 districts in Illinois, was founded on April 22, 1942. The district is a local unit of government, funded by state and local contributions. It is governed by a 5 - member board of directors. Directors are owners or occupiers of land within the county and are elected locally. The board is assisted by non-voting associate directors, who are also non-paid and appointed by the board.
The district is a member of the Association of Illinois Soil & Water Conservation Districts (AISWCD) and the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD). The district works in cooperation with the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA), the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and other federal, state and local agencies to protect and conserve our natural resources and to educate the citizens of Warren County on conservation and related matters.
