New Tool to Coordinate All Species of Greatest Conservation Need!

The SGCN tool is back!

The USGS compiled SGCN from each SWAP into a nationally comparable format to facilitate coordination of priorities & conservation actions across states, regions, and the country, in a common language.

We are requesting that each state review its list to confirm that it is correct. If any states have undergone SWAP revisions that led to adding/removing species, please submit your new SGCN list to AFWA.

When you send updates, please specify whether errors in the list are a result of translating your state’s list into the tool, or if the error in the list is due to an addition/removal of a species during your revision process.

Since the states are on different schedules regarding SWAP revisions, we are continuously accepting revisions and updates. Please share with us those updates as they occur, so that we can maintain this tool as a useful resource. The SGCN list will be submitted to the FWS Wildlife TRACS so we would like for the lists to have the highest degree of accuracy possible.
