Missouri’s Diverse Lands, Waters, and Wildlife

MO_MILKWEED SURVEYFew other states are as enriched as Missouri by the intersection of plants and animals representing the vast prairies of the Great Plains, southwest deserts, southern swampy coastal plains, northern boreal forests, and eastern Appalachians. Unfortunately, this spectacular wildlife heritage could be imperiled by threats including invasive exotic species, development, fire suppression and diminishing water quality. Missouri’s Wildlife Action Plan identifies 33 conservation opportunity areas where the Department of Conservation and it’s partners can work together to conserve wildlife and habitat for future generations. We need to invest in this exciting new plan today!

A Powerful Coalition to Conserve our Wildlife Heritage

More than 200 organizations and businesses from across Missouri have come together to spread the word about the Missouri Wildlife Action Plan and to secure the funding it needs for success. YOU CAN HELP by joining the coalition, engaging organizations in your community and urging our elected officials to support the federal State Wildlife Grants Program and legislation providing long-term, dedicated funding for wildlife conservation and related education and recreation.
