Led by the Nevada Division of Wildlife, the Nevada Teaming with Wildlife Coalition includes wildlife biologists, hunters & anglers, birdwatchers, hikers, nature-based businesses and other conservationists.
Nevada’s Diverse Lands, Waters, and Wildlife
Among the 50 states, Nevada ranks eleventh in overall biological diversity and is ranked fifth in the number of species extinctions. Nevada’s diversity of life is derived from its geography; the many mountain ranges are effectively isolated from one another by arid and treeless basins. This geography creates a unique endemic biota easily subject to threats and stressors. Fortunately, if we invest in the Nevada Wildlife Action Plan today, we can conserve wildlife and vital natural areas for future generations.
A Powerful Coalition to Conserve our Wildlife Heritage
More than 35 organizations and businesses from across Nevada have come together to spread the word about the Nevada Wildlife Action Plan and to secure the funding it needs for success. YOU CAN HELP by joining the coalition, engaging organizations in your community and urging our elected officials to support the federal State Wildlife Grants Program and legislation providing long-term, dedicated funding for wildlife conservation and related education and recreation.
