Ohio’s Diverse Lands, Waters, and Wildlife
The landscape of Ohio is characterized by forestlands, vast agriculture, Lake Erie, and the Ohio River, interspersed with a number of large cities and a population of more than 11 million citizens. Ohio enjoys a diverse wildlife community including healthy populations of white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, bald eagles, and numerous other species. In recent years, populations of osprey, Karner blue butterflies, trumpeter swans, and other threatened and endangered animals have increased substantially. If we invest in the Ohio Wildlife Action Plan today, we can take proactive action to to ensure all of Ohio’s wildlife shares in this success. Help us conserve wildlife and vital natural areas for future generations!
A Powerful Coalition to Conserve our Wildlife Heritage
More than 500 organizations and businesses from across Ohio have come together to spread the word about the Ohio Wildlife Action Plan and to secure the funding it needs for success. This makes it the largest Teaming with Wildlife Coalition in the nation! YOU CAN HELP by joining the coalition, engaging organizations in your community and urging our elected officials to support the federal State Wildlife Grants Program and legislation providing long-term, dedicated funding for wildlife conservation and related education and recreation.
