Hosting a Wildlife Summit

The 2007 Campaign Plan urges every state to host a wildlife summit. It's a great way to jump-start coalitions and get partners excited about wildlife action plan implementation. Ideally a wildlife summit should aim to reach existing and potential coalition members, implementation partners, the media, decision makers and possibly the general public. A proven way to build interest is to invite stakeholder input on implementation priorities, but don't forget to emphasize the need for funding, gather endorsements and get commitments for coalition leadership.
